Hand-painted Madhubani designs on tussar silk sarees are an exotic work of art. The intricately painted, colourful patterns are inspired by nature, and are arranged artistically along the light, textured canvas of the saree. The Madhubani art form originated in the Mithila region of Bihar, and is today practised in Bengal as well.
